Dutch Polder Ditch at Dusk, Leiden Polderpark

A straight polder ditch cuts through the meadow toward the tree line, its still water holding a clean mirror of the cumulus sky above. Lily pads cluster along the right bank; wildflowers push through the long grass on either side. The light is late and uneven — one half of the sky heavy with cloud, the other open and blue — and the ditch catches both at once, the drama above playing out quietly at water level.
