Wide-angle view of a still Dutch polder canal reflecting cumulus clouds and treeline. Green riparian vegetation lines the right bank; tall poplars and broadleaf trees stand along the far shore under a blue summer sky.

Dutch Polder Canal Reflection, Netherlands

22 May 2025 · Leiden Polderpark

A still canal in the Dutch polder holds the summer sky as precisely as the sky itself — cumulus clouds mirrored in dark water, the treeline doubled along the far bank. Riparian grasses press close on the right, tall poplars anchor the middle distance, and the whole frame splits cleanly into two halves: one above the waterline, one below. The kind of quiet that arrives when the wind drops just long enough to let the water settle.
