Wide-angle view of the Leiden Polderpark office tower from a railway station platform. The aluminium fin facade converges to a sharp wedge against a blue sky with cloud. Rail tracks and catenary wires run toward the building in the foreground.

Leiden Polderpark Tower from the Railway Platform

17 May 2025 · Leiden Polderpark

Leiden's Polderpark office tower rises from the station platform edge as a wedge of vertical aluminium fins, the facade pleating tight at the apex and opening toward the sky. The converging rail tracks and catenary wires don't compete with the architecture — they complete it, adding a second geometric grid that anchors the building in its infrastructure. Spring light under a high, partly clouded Dutch sky keeps the palette cool and clean, letting the structural logic read without distraction.
