A summer storm builds over the Leiden Polderpark, its clouds reflected almost perfectly in the still canal below. The water surface doubles the sky into the frame — what is turbulent overhead becomes still underfoot, the two halves held in a single vertical composition. Tree canopies on either side compress the view into a narrow corridor, forcing the eye straight toward the breaking light where storm and open sky meet at the horizon.
