Wind Pump in a Dutch Polder Under Dramatic Summer Sky

A slender wind pump stands at the centre of a wide polder meadow, its silhouette pinning the horizon against a sky that has done most of the compositional work. Cumulus builds heavy on the left while blue breaks through to the right — the kind of Dutch summer afternoon where the weather arrives in two moods at once. Reed-lined ditches and a dark treeline hold the middle ground, the land flat and deliberate the way only managed polder land is.
