Storm Light Over Leiden Polderpark

22 May 2025 · Leiden Polderpark

Storm clouds press low over Leiden Polderpark, the sky split between bruised grey and a narrow band of silver where the sun forces through. A polder waterway cuts a quiet horizontal line across the frame, holding the dark foreground mass against the turbulence above. Construction cranes on the horizon anchor the far edge — the built world intruding at the margins of an otherwise open Dutch landscape. The light is what the storm left behind, not what it's promising.
