Cumulus Over Dutch Polder Canal, Leiden Polderpark

A single cumulus mass dominates the upper half of the frame, its base flat, its crown still building — the kind of cloud that makes a Dutch summer sky feel architectural. Below it, a drainage canal runs through the polder, carrying a near-perfect reflection of that same sky. The foreground vegetation sits in deep shadow, pulling the land almost entirely into silhouette. Sky and water do the work here; the dark earth between them holds the composition in place.
