Wide Dutch polder landscape under a deep blue summer sky. A large white cumulus cloud is mirrored in a narrow drainage channel cutting through shadowed grassland. A dark tree silhouette frames the right edge.

Cumulus Over Leiden Polderpark — Dutch Wetland Landscape

22 May 2025 · Leiden Polderpark

A large cumulus formation dominates the sky above the Leiden Polderpark, its mass mirrored in the narrow drainage channel below. The dark foreground — shadowed grass and a tree line pushed to silhouette — holds the frame still while the sky moves above it. Ground and sky pull in opposite directions: one wide open with reflected light, the other closed in summer shadow. The polder landscape is the reason the two halves exist at all.
