Dramatic Summer Sky over Leiden Polder Grassland

Sky is the subject here — a bank of cumulus building over the Leiden Polderpark, the grassland below pressed into shadow while the clouds catch the last push of afternoon light. The treeline holds the horizon flat, the way Dutch landscape always does, giving the sky nowhere to go but up. Heavy and bright at once: the cloud mass dark on its underside, luminous at the edges where the blue breaks through.
