Brick Church Tower, Leiden Lammenschans

22 May 2025 · Leiden Lammenschans surrounding area

The tower of the Leiden Lammenschans church is built like a wedge driven into the sky — its red brick mass tapering from a wide base to the narrow slate spire and cross at the top. Shot from low and close, the pyramidal geometry dominates the frame; the Gothic pointed arch at the entrance anchors the base while the clock face and bell opening mark the climb. Golden hour light catches the warm brick and deepens the blue of the summer sky behind it. Structure as subject, without apology.
