Steel Truss Canopy at Schiphol Plaza, Amsterdam Airport

The transit canopy at Schiphol Plaza does its work in repetition — truss bay after truss bay receding under a translucent roof, the structure's logic made visible from one end to the other. Shot from ground level, the red lattice column on the right edge holds the whole composition in place, a bold vertical against the sweep of steel and diffused light. Industrial architecture at this scale earns its geometry; the engineering is the ornament.
