A solar halo dominates the sky above Hoofddorp, the windmill silhouette anchored beneath it like a fixed point under a burning ring. The canal in the foreground holds a dark reflection of both — the same scene compressed into still water. Summer evening light at its most confrontational: full sun, deep shadow, and a lens flare that refuses to be cropped out. Atmospheric conditions turned an ordinary canal-side view into something the sky was clearly running.
