A straight Dutch canal recedes into the distance under a clear deep-blue sky. Sun flares from the left. Tree-lined banks cast the water into shadow; a green grass embankment runs along the right side.

Dutch Canal at Golden Hour, Hoofddorp

15 May 2025 · Hoofddorp

A tree-lined canal in Hoofddorp stretches toward the horizon under a deep summer sky, the low sun flaring hard off the left bank while the water below holds everything still. The lifted shadows open the green embankment; the deepened sky pulls the eye straight down the waterway's vanishing point. The canal does what Dutch canals do — it organises the landscape around itself, every tree and grass bank angled inward toward that single receding line.
