Tall converted water tower in Roelofarendsveen with a large red tulip mural painted on its warm concrete facade, photographed at blue hour against a clear gradient sky, green trees flanking the base.

Tulip Mural Water Tower, Roelofarendsveen at Blue Hour

13 May 2025 · Roelofarendsveen

A converted watertoren in Roelofarendsveen carries a full-height tulip mural on its concrete facade — red bloom, green stem, the whole graphic reduced to its simplest form and then scaled up to dominate a neighbourhood skyline. At blue hour the warm concrete holds the last of the golden light while the sky shifts behind it. The mural does what civic public art rarely manages: it earns its scale. A national symbol rendered at architectural weight, matter-of-fact against the dusk.
