Dutch Canal at Dusk, Roelofarendsveen

A residential canal in Roelofarendsveen holds the last of the evening light. Houses line both banks, their silhouettes nearly swallowed by dusk — except for one lit dormer window on the left, warm against the cooling sky. The water runs still enough to mirror the whole corridor, houses to horizon. The warm glow earns its keep by being the only thing that isn't shadow.
