Wooden Jetty on a Dutch Lake at Golden Hour

A weathered wooden jetty pushes out into a broad freshwater lake near Roelofarendsveen, South Holland, in the low light of a summer evening. Reed beds frame the near shore; sailboats hold their positions across the open water under a clear sky. The jetty gives the eye a line to follow — and the lake gives it nowhere to stop. That tension, between structure and open space, is what the Halcyon grade pulls forward in the warm tones of the water and sky.
