Extreme low-angle view looking up a tall whitewashed Dutch Reformed church tower. Two arched brick windows are visible mid-face, a 1605 heraldic datestone sits below them, and a large brick arch frames the entrance at the base. Clear blue sky fills the background.

Church Tower, Katwijk aan Zee — Worm's Eye View, 1605 Datestone

12 May 2025 · Katwijkaan Zee

The Andreaskerk tower in Katwijk aan Zee, shot straight up from ground level. The whitewashed facade tapers into a sharp wedge against a pale blue sky, and the 1605 heraldic datestone — flanked by iron tie-rods — anchors four centuries of history at the centre of the frame. The worm's-eye angle strips away the surroundings entirely; what remains is geometry, mass, and that single panel of documentary fact.
