Coastal Dunes at Golden Hour — Katwijk aan Zee

Dune grass and coastal scrubland at Katwijk aan Zee, caught in the last flat light of a summer evening. The marram grass runs gold across the foreground; a small structure on the dune ridge catches the same warmth above it. The light does the editorial work here — it holds the whole landscape in one temperature, from the dry grass stems at the bottom of the frame to the pale blue sky above the ridge. Zuid-Holland's North Sea coast at its most unhurried.
