Coastal Dunes at Golden Hour, Katwijk aan Zee

A rope fence and dune edge cut a diagonal line toward the beach pavilion, the sandy path between them still warm from the last of the afternoon sun. Marram grass catches the golden light on the right; the deep blue of a clear autumn sky holds the whole thing in place above. This is the North Sea coast at its most settled — the season turning, the beach nearly empty, the light doing exactly what it needs to do.
