Low Tide Sand Ripples at Katwijk aan Zee, Dutch Coast
12 May 2025 · Katwijkaan Zee
The tide has pulled back far enough to leave the beach to its own geometry. Rippled sand stretches across the foreground in close, interlocking waves — a pattern the water writes and the low golden-hour light reads back out in shadow and warmth. The North Sea holds the horizon flat. A contrail draws a faint line through the clear blue above. Wide and nearly empty, the beach at Katwijk aan Zee carries the particular stillness of a tidal flat caught mid-exhale — full of texture, stripped of clutter.
