Low-angle view looking up at the red brick facade of Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, twin towers framing the sky, bunting lines crossing diagonally, shadows cast across the lower half.

Beurs van Berlage Facade, Amsterdam

10 May 2025 · Amsterdam

Beurs van Berlage fills the frame from below — red brick, twin towers, and three arched entries pressed flat against a deep blue sky. The low angle compresses Hendrik Petrus Berlage's Romanesque Revival facade into a single graphic plane, where shadows cut hard diagonals across the warm brick. Bunting lines run street to tower, adding rhythm without softening the building's structural authority. The weight of the architecture and the clarity of the sky hold the image in tension — one built with centuries in mind, the other indifferent to all of it.
