The corner of this building at Amsterdam Science Park does one thing well: it turns a functional sun-screening system into a graphic argument. Horizontal aluminium fins stack from base to roofline, their shadow gaps deepening as the angle steepens toward the building's edge. The converging planes carry the eye upward and out of the frame — structure as the subject, decoration as a side-effect. A contrail crosses the upper right corner of the sky, indifferent to the geometry below.
