Perforated Facade at Amsterdam Science Park
5 May 2025 · Amsterdam Science Park
The dot-screen cladding on this building at Amsterdam Science Park operates at two scales simultaneously: up close it reads as a repeating pixel pattern pressed into aluminium panels; from a distance, the dark clusters resolve into something closer to camouflage or noise. Both faces push against the clear blue sky above, the geometry of the building corner cutting a hard diagonal through the frame. Contemporary architecture here is not just structure — the facade is the argument.
