A tree-lined canal cuts a straight corridor through Amstelpark, Amsterdam, the water holding a clean reflection of the cloud-broken sky above. Tall poplars shade the left bank into deep shadow; willows on the right still carry their spring-green against the light. The canal earns its symmetry — the sky above and the surface below pulling the same scene in two directions at once, and finding something quieter in the doubling.
