The watertoren in Leiderdorp commands the frame from below. Eight concrete-framed bays of decorative red brick rise against a clear South Holland sky, the geometry tightening as the structure tapers up toward its flat cap. A spiral staircase threads through the supporting legs underneath — secondary rhythm that earns its place in the composition. Industrial heritage built with enough ornament to make clear that utility alone wasn't the brief.
