Modern Tower and Brutalist Slab, The Hague Office District

1 May 2025 · The Hague

A curved curtain-wall tower rises as a graphic wedge over The Hague's office district, its sweeping glass facade pulling the eye upward against a clear summer sky. Beside it, a brutalist concrete slab holds its ground — heavier, older, a different theory of what a building should be. The worm's-eye angle presses both into the same frame and lets the material contrast do the arguing. Two generations of Dutch commercial architecture, neither conceding.
