Grote Kerk Side Door, Den Haag

A ribbed red timber door set into a gothic arch — the Grote Kerk's entrance holds its ground against centuries of weathered brick. In monochrome, the texture does all the work: the wood grain runs vertical, the iron ring anchor pulls the eye down, and the limestone dressings carve the arch into something almost graphic. The geometry is the subject; the door is just where it lands.
