Gothic Church Steeple Against Deep Blue Sky, Leiden

Warm red brick and pale limestone meet at the nave roofline, the steeple rising straight into a saturated summer sky above Leiden. Shot from street level looking up, the rose window anchors the right wall while tree foliage pushes in from the corner — three competing verticals finding their arrangement against the blue. Gothic architecture as graphic structure: the ornament is incidental, the geometry is the point.
