Worm's-eye view looking up through a dense deciduous tree canopy at Burcht Leiden, the sun bursting through foliage on the lower left, branches silhouetted against backlit green leaves.

Sun Through Tree Canopy at Burcht Leiden

29 April 2025 · Leiden walk towards, in and around Burcht

A large deciduous tree photographed from directly below, the trunk dividing the frame while branches fan outward into a dense leaf canopy. The sun punches through the foliage on the left, collapsing into a hard starburst against the backlit green mass. Summer light at Burcht Leiden does two things at once — it floods the canopy with warmth and throws the branching structure into sharp silhouette, making the tree's geometry as legible as any built thing.
