Mosh Pro
Real-time visual effects mixer for when a photo or video needs to look like something went wrong on purpose.
Mosh Pro is the tool for when I want a photo or a short video to carry a specific kind of broken — datamosh glitching, VHS artefacts, chromatic aberration, CRT scanlines, pixel sort, ASCII mosaic, 8-bit CGA palettes, the whole aesthetic vocabulary of video-compression failure made deliberate. Sixty-plus effects that stack and reorder in real time, modulators that animate parameters over time, 4K export. Previously called PhotoMosh, renamed in late 2024.
The reason to own it is that the alternative is FFmpeg scripts and command-line patience. Mosh Pro takes the minute you want to spend on the effect and leaves it at about a minute, rather than an afternoon of tutorials and config files. Used sparingly — the aesthetic is a seasoning, not a meal — but three years in, when a moment calls for it, nothing else I've tried comes close.
