ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (2023)
AMD-and-RTX-4060 gaming chassis pulling double duty as the creative and dev workstation.
Three years in, the TUF A15 still does the work — bought in 2023 when the RTX 4060 mobile generation hit the right combination of performance and price. The 15-inch chassis from ASUS's mid-tier gaming line, AMD CPU on this revision (the A15 is the Ryzen variant, the F15 is the Intel one), 4060 mobile GPU, 144Hz display, the rugged build and military-spec drop testing the TUF line is named for.
Specced up over the years — two NVMe slots filled with Lexar NM790 drives at 4TB and 2TB respectively, 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 SODIMM at 4800 MT/s. The configuration handles the Adobe suite, Premiere edits at scale, and software development workflows where compile times start to bite.
What gaming-laptop-as-creative-rig always trades: battery life, weight, and fan noise under load. None of that matters at the desk; all of it matters on the road. The Pad 6 covers the lightweight-on-the-road case the A15 won't, and that's the explicit division of labour.
